TRAUMA RECOVERY COACHING
There's one common misconception about trauma. Many believe that in order for something to be classified as trauma, it must involve an experience universally considered horrific. In reality, trauma is subjective. If it causes a person intense or extreme duress, it qualifies as traumatic. That can include anything from narcissistic abuse, partner betrayal, loss of a loved one or pet, financial strain, divorce to assault, childhood neglect and abuse.
People often think that because they can't see the results of abuse, it wasn't that bad. What they don't see is the damage to your brain, your auto-immune system and your entire world-view.
In our sessions, we will discuss the traumatic event(s) you've experienced and how they have impacted your day-to-day living. As your coach, I will provide you with unconditional support, confidentiality and assistance in creating the life you want and deserve. Together, we will work to rebuild your identity, confidence and self-worth. My number one priority is reminding you - in every session - that you matter.
If there is one fact you take with you when you leave this site, let it be this:
Children with adverse childhood experiences and adults who have experienced childhood trauma may respond more quickly and strongly to events or conversations that would not affect those with no ACEs, and have higher levels of indicators for inflammation than those who have not suffered childhood trauma. This wear and tear on the body is the main reason why the lifespan of people with an ACE score of six or higher is likely to be shortened by 20 years. - From AcesTooHigh.com
